Copyright Notice Guide

Prepare one message with all six listed elements, then send it to the copyright email below. The checklist follows the official Section 512 source.

Use this page when you are a copyright owner or are authorized to act for one and want to send a copyright notice. The checklist is limited to preparing that message.

Confirm that you can send the notice

The notice should be signed by the owner of the exclusive right at issue or by a person authorized to act for that owner. If you are unsure about your authority or whether a use is authorized by law, seek qualified advice before making the required statements.

Include all six elements

  1. Add a physical or electronic signature of the person authorized to act for the owner.
  2. Identify the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed. If one notice covers multiple works at one site, provide a representative list.
  3. Identify the material claimed to be infringing and provide information reasonably sufficient to locate it.
  4. Provide information reasonably sufficient to contact you, such as an address, telephone number and, if available, an email address.
  5. State that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. State that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the owner of the exclusive right at issue.

Send one complete message

Email the notice to support@tanzil.video with the subject “Copyright Notice.” Keep the six elements together in one message, and make the work and material identifications specific.

Read the official source

This six-element checklist follows 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)(A), as presented in the U.S. Copyright Office Section 512 resource. Read that official source or obtain qualified advice if you need to assess a legal requirement.

Use the page that owns the question

Read the Terms of Use for responsibilities and permission limits. Use the Contact page for a question that is not a copyright notice.
