  • YouTube Shorts use the same video flow A single public Shorts link shows its available MP4 resolutions through the same result page.
  • MP3 only when an audio track is available An MP3 option appears only when the selected YouTube video includes an available audio track.

About the tool and how to use it

Download the version that fits your device

Copy a public YouTube video or Shorts link, paste it above, and select Download now. When the result appears, choose an MP4 button or select MP3 audio when it is available.

1. Copy one video link

On YouTube, open the video or Short, choose Share, then copy the link. If the address came from a playlist and still identifies one video, this page handles that video only.

2. Paste and check the result

Return here, paste the link, and select the button. The result identifies the video and lists its available choices, so you can decide before saving.

3. Choose MP4 or MP3

Select the resolution that suits your screen and connection. Choose MP3 only when you need the sound without the picture and the MP3 option is present.

Why the quality list changes

Each YouTube upload can offer a different set of sizes. This page can show MP4 choices at 360p, 480p, 720p, or 1080p, but only when that step exists for the video. It does not create a missing resolution, and 1080p is the ceiling. A smaller upload may therefore show fewer buttons.

Shorts use the same field and the same result flow. For a vertical Short, the familiar quality label follows the video's shorter side, so a 1080 by 1920 result is labeled 1080p rather than 1920p. This makes the choice easier to compare with ordinary YouTube video labels.

Use MP3 when audio is enough

The MP3 choice is useful for a talk, interview, lecture, or other video you are allowed to save when you do not need the picture. It appears only when an audio track is available. If MP3 is not shown, choose an available video option or try a different public link.

Find the file after download

On iPhone or iPad, check the Files app, then Downloads. On Android, open Files or My Files and look in Downloads. On a computer, open the Downloads folder or the location selected in your browser settings. A browser that asks where to save will use the location you choose.

Know the limits before you paste

The page handles one public video at a time. A playlist page by itself is not a batch request. Private, members-only, age-restricted, deleted, unavailable, or location-restricted videos cannot be opened here. An active live stream is not ready; once YouTube provides a public replay, its video link may work like another public upload.

Save only what you may use

Download your own work, material you have permission to use, or content whose license allows it. YouTube's terms and the rights holder's rules still apply. See our terms of use and copyright complaints page if you need the site's policy path.

Frequently asked questions

How do I download a YouTube video?

Open a public video or Short, choose "Share", and copy the link. Paste it in the field above, select "Download now", then choose one of the MP4 buttons shown for that video.

Why are some YouTube quality buttons missing?

The available choices depend on the upload. This page can show 360p, 480p, 720p, or 1080p when that step exists for the video; it does not create a missing resolution, and 1080p is the ceiling.

Can I save only the YouTube audio as MP3?

Yes, when the result includes an audio track. Select "MP3 audio" to save the sound without the picture. If that option is not shown, MP3 is not available for that link.

Does this page work with YouTube Shorts?

Yes. Copy the Short link and use the same field. A vertical 1080 by 1920 result is labeled 1080p by its shorter side, which keeps the quality name consistent with ordinary video labels.

Can I download an entire YouTube playlist?

No. This page handles one video at a time. A playlist page by itself is rejected. If a link from inside a playlist still identifies one video, the result covers that video only.

Can I download an active YouTube live stream?

Not while it is live. After the stream ends, a public replay may work like another public video once YouTube makes that replay available.

Which YouTube videos cannot be opened here?

Private, members-only, age-restricted, deleted, unavailable, and location-restricted videos cannot be opened here. Use a public video or Shorts link instead.

Where is the downloaded YouTube file on my device?

On iPhone or iPad, check the Files app under Downloads. On Android, check Files or My Files, then Downloads. On a computer, use the Downloads folder or the location chosen in your browser settings.

Is this YouTube downloader free, and do I need an app?

The page is free to use in your current browser. It does not require an app, browser extension, or sign-in, and it shows no pop-ups or ad banners around the download controls.
